Celebrating Diversity Coalition

Background: The Celebrating Diversity Coalition <http://www.cdc.org.au/> , based in Adelaide, Australia, was formed to promote multiculturalism and reconciliation, and to speak out against racism. It represents diverse groups and organizations committed to community action.

Audience: Middle School - High School students; Higher Education; Educators

Types of Information Offered: While the CDC is a community based organization, they are interested in "forging links with like-minded groups and individuals nationally and internationally". The intent of their site is to "let others know about the projects and events" that organizations such as theirs are involved in. They plan to provide educational material which will be of use to those interested in celebrating diversity.

CREDE

Background: The Center for Research on Education Diversity and Excellence<http://www.crede.ucsc.edu/home.html> focuses on critical issues in the education of linguistic and cultural minority students and those placed at risk by factors of race, poverty, and geographic location.

Researchers from universities around the United States are working together to "design, develop and disseminate a comprehensive curricular and instructional framework that is strong, flexible, and inclusive of diversity among all individuals and communities". Research projects are monitored by the U.S. Department of Education.
